If you think I could help, contact me by phone or email and then we can discuss the
next step. All calls and messages are confidential. BACP and UKRCP Accredited Independent
Counsellor/Psychotherapist bound by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice
and subject to its Professional Conduct Procedure.
The adults I counsel will experience:
* Empathy: pursuing a process of picking up on your feelings as if I was you
* Warmth: adopting a respectful attitude, devoid of judgement, devoid of power
* Genuineness: adopting a particular way of being i.e. open, transparent, being
myself, avoiding presenting a façade or acting with contrivance. In doing so, I communicate
that it is not only permissible but it is desirable to be you.
Through these conditions clients begin to prize themselves, often the first
“step through the door” toa new way of being.
My main practitioner training was the BACP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative
Counselling at Manchester University. I can integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
(CBT). CBT is the preferred method of treatment for anxiety and depression in the
National Health Service. More research has been conducted into the effectiveness
of CBT than other therapeutic modalities, and the National Institute for Health and
Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends it for treatment of anxiety, depression and
post-traumatic stress disorder.
